Tim Strong

First Alert Meteorologist Tim Strong grew up in Columbia, S.C and joined the News 12 team in 2005 from a station in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Tim spent two years at Brevard College in Brevard, N.C., and two years at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., playing baseball all four years. He has a Bachelor of Science in broadcast communications from Liberty University and a certificate of broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State

Tim got his start in television at WIS-TV in Columbia, S.C. From 2002 to 2005, he was the morning and midday meteorologist at KLKN-TV Channel 8 in Lincoln, Neb., where he experienced enough snow in three years to last a lifetime. While at Channel 8, Tim was part of the weather team who won the AP Award for Severe Weather Coverage of the Hallam Tornado in May 2004. At the time, this tornado was the widest on record at 2.5 miles.

Since joining the News 12 team in 2005, Tim has enjoyed bringing the forecast to Augusta viewers with a smile and some laughs. Tim is a part of the News 12 weather team who won the AP Award for Best Severe Weather Coverage in 2012.

Tim married his high-school sweetheart. He has two beautiful daughters who keep him busy and laughing. He enjoys several activities including going to church, working out, playing softball, and plays keyboards and drums in the church praise and worship band.
