AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A high pressure ridge (aka heat dome) will build into the Southeast. The result will be hotter than average temperatures today with highs in the upper 90s. Factor in the humidity, and it will feel more like 102 to 105 degrees.

The heat dome will be replaced by a trough of low pressure Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday resulting in increased cloud cover, higher rain chances and slightly milder temperatures. Highs Wednesday will be in the lower to middle 90s. Thursday and Friday, highs will drop to near normal in the lower 90s.

There is a marginal risk for severe storms Wednesday for the risk of isolated damaging wind gusts. Severe weather chances Wednesday will likely be limited in duration and intensity, but stay weather aware for outdoor plans.

Isolated severe weather will likely remain possible Thursday through Sunday. Stay weather aware.
