EMANUEL COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An employee of the Emanuel County Commissioners’ Office has been arrested for allegedly using the county credit card.

On March 16, the Emanuel County Commissioners’ Office was conducting a “random, abbreviated internal audit of the county’s credit cards.”

According to the news release, a discrepancy was found that caused an in-depth review.

The audit revealed that the county credit card was used to purchase personal items.

The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office said the receipts showed the items were delivered to the employee’s home address.

Risa K. Fortner, 48, of Kite, was arrested and charged with theft by taking, officials said.

She was booked into the Emanuel County Detention Center.
