Aiken child-care worker accused of 2 cruelty incidents in 1 day
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Aiken day-care worker has been arrested after she was accused of child abuse, according to officials.
The Aiken Department of Public Safety says 25-year-old Raven Tyler was arrested Wednesday after an incident at the Sunshine House, 1950 S. Centennial Ave. in Aiken.
According to an incident report, officers spoke with a mother who stated she reviewed video of Tyler distributing food to children in a classroom on June 11.
The mom stated footage showed Tyler placed food in front of one child twice while her daughter was waiting for her meal, according to the report.
Richmond County deputies look for armed robbery suspect
Richmond County deputies are looking for two men who are wanted in separate burglary and armed robbery cases.
The report states after the young girl did not receive lunch, she proceeded to eat food from the floor.
According to the report, Tyler then forcefully jerked the girl by the left arm, causing her feet to leave the ground.
The report states the girl complained of pain and discomfort when moving her left arm.
According to officers, this isn’t the only incident that happened on June 11 involving Tyler.
2 killed in single-vehicle crash on Hancock Landing Road
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on the 800 block of Hancock Landing Road around 7:40 p.m.
In another incident report, officers spoke to a second mom who stated her child was injured at the Sunshine House.
The report states someone who worked at the Sunshine House contacted her to pick up her son due to behavioral issues. The mom stated she could hear her son in the background sounding upset.
While picking up her son, the mom noticed her son was not using his left arm, according to the report.
The report states the mom took her son to the doctor, who stated her son had a dislocated elbow.
Former Jenkins County sheriff’s staffer charged with impersonating officer
A former Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office employee has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for allegedly impersonating a police officer.
Officers responded to the Sunshine House, where they were able to watch video footage of the incident.
The footage showed Tyler pick up the boy with a single arm about waist high, according to the report.
The footage showed Tyler carrying the boy by the left arm about 15 feet and placing him in a chair, the report says.
Tyler is charged with two counts of cruelty to children, according to jail reports.
