Richmond County deputies look for armed robbery suspect

Richmond County deputies are looking for two men who are wanted in separate burglary and armed robbery cases.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County deputies are looking for an armed robbery suspect.

Deputies say they are looking for a subject who is wanted in connection to an armed robbery that happened at Family Dollar, 3447 Peach Orchard Road, on Tuesday.

Deputies say the subject is a Black male between the heights of 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 9 inches.

The subject appeared to be wearing a wig and a Nike Face Mask.

The subject left the scene on foot in the area of Rosier Road.

This subject should be considered Armed and Dangerous.

2 killed in single-vehicle crash on Hancock Landing Road

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on the 800 block of Hancock Landing Road around 7:40 p.m.

On Wednesday, deputies also announced they were looking for a burglary suspect, but he has since been arrested.

According to the sheriff’s office, 48-year-old Victor James Evans was arrested on Wednesday in reference to a “smash and grab” burglary that occurred at Family Dollar, 825 Laney Walker Boulevard, on Tuesday.

According to the incident report, deputies responded to the store, where they noticed the front door was busted.

The report states while in the store, deputies observed the floor was covered in tobacco products.

A manager of the store showed deputies video footage that showed two Black males entering the store, according to the report.

Deputies say one of a the males took an unknown amount of tobacco products and two speakers. The other male took two packs of coke.

Evans is charged with one count of smash and grab burglary, according to jail reports.
