AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Department of Defense terminated HomeSafe Alliance LLC on Wednesday.

HomeSafe Alliance was a contractor that helped move military service members, including soldiers here at Fort Gordon.

HomeSafe issued this statement Thursday after it was fired:

“We disagree strongly with TRANSCOM’s decision to terminate the Global Household Goods Contract and are reviewing legal options.”

“TRANSCOM” the Defense Department moniker for its U.S. Transportation Command.

For months now, a 12 On Your Side investigation has exposed a pattern of problems with a new program to move our service members and their families.
