AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Friday, SafeHomes of Augusta hosted its 8th annual Fake It to Make It fundraiser, helping domestic violence victims.

The show was a lip-synch challenge at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center.

“They all come together. They pick the music, the lip-synch battle, and they win a championship belt — the largest fundraiser, people’s choice and the judge’s choice,” said Executive Director Aimee Hall.

In 2019, the fundraiser was voted Best Fundraising Event by readers of Augusta Magazine.

At last check, they raised about $240,000 to help give back to the community.
