New details in shooting that killed 18-year-old in Augusta

AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) - Officials are giving more detailed information about a shooting that killed an 18-year-old on Friday morning

According to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting call at the Chevron Gas Station on Gordon Highway around 2:30 a.m.

Deputies at the scene were told that two cars were parked in the parking lot and that several people from one car approached the other and opened fire.

The victim in this case, identified as Brian Harris, was the passenger in the car that was the target in the shooting.

Both cars fled the scene after the shooting.

Deputies said the car carrying Harris stopped on Deans Bridge Road where EMS workers were able to transport him to AUMC where he later died.

The investigation in this case continues.
