S.C. rapper Desiigner arrested again, accused of chasing victim with hammer

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Grammy-nominated rapper Desiigner, whose legal name is Sidney Selby, has been arrested in Horry County for the second time this year.
The Horry County Police Department charged Selby with malicious injury and domestic violence after neighbors reported he was chasing a victim with a hammer and damaging property.
Police found Selby with his hand covered in blood. According to their report, he got into an argument with a woman over a television set, then smashed both of their phones with a hammer.
The victim ran outside, where Selby followed her, threw her to the ground and ripped her handbag. She fled into a neighbor’s home before police arrived.
Investigators estimate total damages from the incident at nearly $3,000. Selby was taken to a hospital before being transported to a detention center.
