Lady Tigers win game 1 of SCHSL 2A state softball series

SALUDA (WRDW/WAGT) - The Saluda Lady Tigers are now lead the series against Chesterfield in the SCHSL 2A State Championship, 7-1.

The Lady Tigers defense was on display, when they had the chance.

Pitcher Miller Martin led the way, retiring 13 batters across seven innings, allowing two hits and one run.

A four-spot in the bottom of the second inning stuck the Tigers up early and they never looked back.

Boots Marnati was credited with the final RBI of the night, sending in Ava Frye in the bottom of the fifth.

The Tigers now head to Chesterfield for game two. If they split, the third game will be moved to a neutral site.
