2 pedestrians hit by vehicle on Laurens Street in Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in Aiken on Friday, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Officials say troopers responded to an incident involving two pedestrians on Laurens Street at Park Avenue around 8:13 p.m. Friday.

Troopers say a 2004 Hyundai was turning on South Carolina 19 from Park Avenue when the driver hit the pedestrians walking west on South Carolina 19.

Troopers say the pedestrians were on the crosswalk.

According to officials, the pedestrians were transported to an area hospital. The driver was not injured.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.
