...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY... The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Lake Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon Tuesday to 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* WINDS...North 10 to 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots.

* TIMING...Noon Tuesday through early Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft.

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

...FREEZE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 inland to around freezing along the coast.

* WHERE...Southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Freezing conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
