PBC Reveals Men’s Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, GA – With the start of the 2018-19 season just around the corner, the Peach Belt Conference has announced the men's basketball Preseason All-Conference team. The five players represent five different PBC institutions and were selected by the league's head coaches.

Doniel Dean, USC Aiken
A returning senior from Newnan, Ga., who made an immediate impact in his first season with the Pacers
Averaged 16.9 points per game overall and 17.4 against conference opponents
A first-team All-Conference selection, he was named a PBC Player of the Week on Dec. 4
Ranked fourth in the PBC in assists and eighth in steals
Scored 20 or more points eight times including two games with 35 points

Jaylen Taylor, Clayton State
A returning senior forward from Hephzibah, Ga.
A first-team All-Conference selection and named a 2018-19 DII Bulletin Preseason All-America Honorable Mention
Led the PBC in total rebounds and was sixth in rebounds per game and ninth in field goal percentage
Had 20 double-digit scoring games and seven double-doubles as the Lakers were PBC regular-season co-Champions and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade, advancing to the second round
Scored a career-high 29 with 15 rebounds and three steals and two blocks against Flagler

Deane Williams, Augusta
A returning senior forward from Bristol, England
Ranked fifth in the PBC in rebounding with 8.1 per game, also eighth in the conference in field goal percentage
Was second on the team with 13.0 points per game and led the squad in blocks, rebounds and free throws
Had 22 games in double-figure points with 10 double-doubles (tied for league lead) and scored 20 or more four times
Hit 10 of 11 field goals against North Georgia on Dec. 19, tied for the highest single-game field goal percentage in the PBC last season
