ATHENS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- This Saturday, it will have been 327 days since Georgia's heart-breaking loss to Alabama in the national title game.
The Dawgs will have the chance to avenge that loss as they face the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship this weekend.
Just like last season, Alabama will be the most challenging team the Dawgs have faced all year.
The tide lead the SEC in total offense, averaging 49 points-per-game -- Bama also boasts one of the top defenses in the nation, as they've only given up 21 touchdowns.
With another trip to the College Football Playoffs up for grabs, prep for this game is a little different for UGA.
"Team's completely different. But we'll do it like a normal game week. You can't say this game is, oh, we gotta do something different this game. We gotta go out and be who we are. We gotta go play better and we've gotta go continue to improve. We got a bunch of young guys that gotta go compete and play in a big-stage environment."Kirby Smart says.
The odds are stacked against Smart. Nick saban has never lost a game against any of his former assistant coaches.
