AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Augusta led USC Aiken wire to wire en route to a 93-86 win in the Peach Belt Tournament Championship Sunday at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Five AU players scored in double-digits. Deane Williams led with a team high 23 points and 11 rebounds.
"Sometimes you've got to put your team on your back. Everyone's done it before throughout the whole season. Tyree, Tyvez, everyone. They're wired to do that. So, I guess tonight was just my night." Deane Williams said.
The Jags opened the game on a 10-0 scoring run. Despite USCA's slow start, senior, Ty'lik Evans got the Pacers within four late in the game. He knocked down a game-high 26 points.
"They're really tough to play against because of the way they drive it. It was a tough matchup all night. I think this is the first time I've won a conference thing here," Dip Metress said. "I'm happy for our players, It was a fun night."
This is Augusta's sixth tournament title in program history. Both team's post-season seeding will be announced tonight at 10:30 p.m.
