AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- It's been quite the year for the augusta volleyball team -- a 20-plus win season, Peach Belt Tournament champs for the first time, and now the Jags are set to make their second NCAA tournament appearance in program history.
After dropping their last two regular season games, AU made adjustments.
Coach Quarles moved a couple players around to different positions, and they were able to win three-straight.
Now, in the opening round of the NCAA's, Augusta will face familiar foe, Georgia College. It'll be their fourth meeting of the season and second in five days.
With the Jags peaking at the right time, they feel momentum is on their side.
"We are making history here. We have a right to be a little bit cocky and show up to the regional tournament with a different degree of intensity than we did the Peach Belt Tournament," senior setter, McKenzey Beck said.
"We just need to be ourselves, how we were. Just come out with the same intensity and the same aggressiveness that we have brought," sophomore middle hitter, Chloe Allen said.
If we just take care of our court, our side and just manage our side with our player personel, with defense and offense. The rest will take care of itself." Jags coach, Sharon Quarles said.
