SRP Park is about to be lit -- literally -- thanks to drones

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The skies of SRP Park are about to be lit, as the cool kids say.

We're talking about what Augusta GreenJackets officials are already calling a "very cool experience and not one to be missed."

It's called a drone light show, and while it's not free hot dog night at the park, it's definitely going to bring attention to the San Francisco Giants affiliate.

GreenJackets officials announced the event and scheduled it for June 14 at 7:05 p.m. in partnership with EDTS Cyber.

“EDTS Cyber is excited to be collaborating with the Augusta GreenJackets to bring an innovative alternative to fireworks to the CSRA this baseball season,” Charles Johnson, EDTS Cyber CEO and founder, said.. “We are looking forward to seeing the excitement and joy this light show will bring to the faces of baseball fans this year.”

So, what's a drone light show? Imagine 25 drones with dazzling lights dancing across the sky.

Ticket prices for the event start at $9. Single game tickets for the 2019 season will go on sale at a later date.
