RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- Richmond County has been using a new app this school year to help keep parents in the loop of their child's school bus.
Thanks to the app called "Safe-Stop", parents were able to see their kids' bus route and even track the bus.
The app helps Alisha Oglesby know if there were going to be any delays.
"I think it's actually pretty cool," Oglesby said. "You need to know where your child's at at all times."
Oglesby usually sits on her front porch to wait for her son to return home from school. Now, by just looking down at her phone, she can see when he'll make it home and when the bus will come pick him up.
"I think that's pretty good that they are giving us the opportunity to use the app," Oglesby said. "That's going to tell us exactly if our child made it to school safe or not."
The app, Oglesby says, puts her mind at ease. It's one less thing to worry about this school year. With the last day of school, parents are giving this app two thumbs up.
