One person in custody after high speed chase in Aiken County

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- One person is in custody in Aiken County after a high speed chase.

Aiken County deputies said it happened on Woodland Drive and Spring Avenue off Apache Drive around 8:44 p.m.

They said it started as a traffic stop and the suspect backed into a patrol car trying to escape. During the chase, the suspect hit the patrol car again.

Investigators said there are no significant injuries. The deputy in the patrol car has minor cuts on the arm after breaking out the window of the suspect's car.
