AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- An Augusta man accused of murdering his wife was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday.

Richard Timmons, Jr. shot and killed his wife in the parking lot of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home in 2018.

That shooting happened weeks after his wife filed for divorce.

We also know Timmons is the son of a convicted axe murderer in New York.

Investigators spent a week seeking Timmons. He was found in Texas.
