Multiple patients have allegedly been sexually assaulted at Lighthouse Care Center.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Lighthouse Care Center is responding after more allegations of sexual assault happening at their center. Most recently a teen patient is accused of abusing a teenage girl.
News 12 is breaking down the history of sexual assault at Lighthouse, and what they're saying about the allegations.
"I'm upset as a parent to know that I sent my daughter to get treated where she was violated," said Rhodes. "Not once but twice, by this same young man."
Lighthouse Care Center has a history of sexual abuse allegations like the one Rhode's daughter claims.
In 2016, Christopher Calhoun was accused of molesting a female patient he met while working as a counselor there. She was younger than 16 at the time, according to indictments. Calhoun pleaded guilty in 2018 and was sentenced to jail.
In 2017, two Lighthouse workers were accused of sexually assaulting patients. Jacey Haskell, a former mental health technician at Lighthouse, was indicted on charges of sexual assault against a patient.
Later that year, Timothy Carroll, a former Lighthouse Coordinator, was charged with molesting a 14-year-old girl, twice. He's been indicted on 11 charges ranging from sexual assault to false imprisonment.
Rhodes is speaking out against the center after what she says happened to her child.
"We shouldn't have to go through this as parents, our children shouldn't go through this."
In response to the latest lawsuit, Lighthouse attorneys deny any liability for the "unforeseeable acts" of their employee.
