AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRWD/WAGT) -- If you prefer a smaller celebration that doesn't require a plane ticket, you have options.

Starting at 8 p.m. people will be heading to the Garden City Social. They're having a masquerade party but they aren't the only ones celebrating.

The Pinnacle Club on 7th Street is hosting members right now and will continue to throughout the night.

From balloons to disco lights and two DJ's, the Garden City Social is ready to ring in the New Year.

"We'll have a DJ and a dance floor in the back and we brought in a whole lighting rig for back there so it'll be a masquerade building complete,” said Tommy Wafford, the managing partner of Garden City Social.

Previously 'Sky City', it's Garden City Social's first year hosting a New Year’s Eve party and it's masquerade-themed.

"Everybody downtown talks and we know what everybody’s doing so you try not to step on other people, but you also want what we do to be the most creative, the most fun party in town and so masquerade gives everybody a chance to be super creative and do your own thing and come dressed up," said Wafford.

It's a party for almost 300 people.

“We brought in extra staff for the crowd; our goal here is that everybody gets treated with excellence service,” said Wafford.

A few blocks down high above Broad Street, the Pinnacle Club is decked out for the evening.

“Tonight we've got a very special new years eve we put together for our members,” said Trip Harrison, the senior vice president of Edgar's Hospitality Group.

In the past, the Pinnacle Club has only offered dinner on New Year’s Eve but tonight they're kicking it up a notch.

“They are going to have a live band, we've got Bethany and the Southside Boys, we have a chef curated menu that our chef has put together," said Harrison.

Whether it's a live band or a DJ, both ends of Broad Street are ready to end 2018 and start 2019.

“It's proven itself because we are sold out," said Harrison. "If you have tickets you're in, we've prepared for the rain we have a huge tent out front, the red carpet and there will be champagne waiting for you when you walk in the door.”

There are a few tickets left but if this sells out, there are a few other places whose doors will be open for people to walk in and have a good time here on Broad Street.
