AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Horse Creek Academy's Dr. Frank G. Roberson has announced his retirement.

Roberson has worked all across Augusta through his tenure in education.

"My tenure in education has its origin in Augusta, Georgia concurrently at what was Tubman Middle School, Paine College’s Upward-bound Program, and the Aiken County Public School System, respectively as a History Teacher, an Instructor, and senior-level educational leader," Roberson said in a press release.

The longtime educator has also worked in Aiken County, Edgefield County, Marlboro County and Richmond County.

Dr. Roberson at one time was the Richmond County Superintendent until a severe medical issue.

Horse Creek Academy is planning a celebration for Dr. Roberson the last Sunday in May.
