16-year Columbia County investigator fired for DUI

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- An investigator with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office has been fired after an arrest.

According to the sheriff's office, Staff Sergeant Michael Williamson has been fired after being arrested for a DUI Saturday.

The now-former investigator was arrested in Elbert County after the 4 p.m. traffic stop.

Williamson, 46, had worked with the sheriff's office since June 17, 2002.
