Burke County deputies searching for a 19-year-old who allegedly shot at his stepfather and fled

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Burke County Sheriff's Office is still looking for Jeramiah Gardner who is now facing Felony Aggravated Assault charges.

They say the 19-year old shot at his stepfather and fled armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.

According to deputies, the stepfather found where his stepson had hidden an AK-47 in the house so he turned it over to Sardis Police.

BCSO is now in possession of the AK-47 which turns out to have been stolen out of Richmond County.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at 706-554-2133. Callers may remain anonymous. If you are friends with him or have a way to reach him through social media or other means, please have him turn himself in to the BCSO as soon as possible.

At this time, he is considered to be armed and dangerous. The Sardis Police and BCSO are working together regarding this case.

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Burke County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a shooting this morning at the intersection of Girard Avenue and Sapp Street in Sardis.

Deputies say it happened at 9:45 a.m. after a 19-year-old shot at his stepfather and fled on foot North East on the 700 block of Girard Avenue. They say the victim was not shot, so is not injured.

Deputies say they are looking for the 19-year-old black male identified as Jeramiah Gardner.

Gardner was last seen without a shirt, wearing black pants and armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.
