BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT)-- The gun deputies believe killed a Sardis 17-year-old boy has been found. Burke County Sheriff's office announced a county worker came across the weapon and turned it in.

Tybralyn Kelly was killed Sunday night after a shooting at the Meadowbrook Apartments off Bargeron Ave. The next morning deputies charged Malik Harris, 17, in Kelly's murder.

Burke County investigators initially had trouble locating the gun used in the murder. But by Wednesday, the sheriff's office had the weapon thanks to a Public Works employee.

BCSO says the employee found it, properly secured it, then called them. Burke County investigators believe the gun is the same one used to shoot and kill Tybralyn Kelly, but to be sure, the GBI is testing it to see if it's a match.
