AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- We're learning more about the 24-year-old woman found dead in Augusta late Thursday.
Karrie Braswell's family says she was a mother of two young children.
Braswell was found with a gunshot wound on April Drive Thursday.
Rick Campbell and David Jennings live nearby.
"I've been out here ever since '95 and overall it's a pretty good neighborhood," Campbell said.
But now it's a neighborhood marked a crime scene as yellow tape surrounds Braswell's home. The scene is leaving neighbors on edge and hoping to see more police.
Investigators have not ruled Braswell's death a homicide, but they aren't ruling it out yet, either. They're calling it a suspicious death.
Campbell says this isn't the first bad thing to happen in the neighborhood.
"It didn't surprise me that much," Campbell said. "We've had other problems. I know there's some bad elements in that area and in this area."
Meanwhile, the crime tape remains, but investigators are not saying much. Braswell's body was sent to GBI for an autopsy. They hope the autopsy will be more illuminating on what happened.
