AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Village at Riverwatch has been the home of Cabela's, Costco and a theater for a while, and now we’re starting to see new businesses pop up along the popular stretch of road.

In fact, the new home for News 12 NBC 26 is among the new buildings popping up in the spot. When you visit the area, you’ll see sign after sign of what’s to come.

"It’s been overdue that we add a lot of other healthy users to the area and that's been great,” said Dennis Trotter of Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate.

They added a nail salon that’s now open, and they're already filing away at their appointments. Before long, they’ll have some new neighbors.

Construction of a Guitar Center starts next month. They’ll open up their doors next summer, but they aren’t the only ones moving in.

A medical spa and Augusta’s Emergency Animal Hospital will be there too.

"I think it's a great idea! I think it will improve the economy,” said Anna Eggleston. “I think it will give more opportunities for people.”

The Riverwatch Apartments will also be going up and opening to residents.

“Then we'll have a second apartment project coming online that will start later in 2019,” Trotter told News 12.

Our new station sits at the point of the property.

“We're really excited about that. That will be perched up on the hill right at I-20 and Riverwatch, and that's a huge dollar investment for the area."

But there are a few projects Trotter can’t talk to us about yet. Eggleston hopes to see something family friendly.

We’re told we can expect to see ribbon-cuttings on some of those businesses by the middle of this year.

Here are some of the renderings for what's to come:
