Woman faces simple battery and cruelty to children charges

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- According to Richmond County Sheriff's Office, 30 year-old Summer Lewis faces simple battery family violence and cruelty to children. The case report states one of the two victims told the responding deputy she and her girlfriend were in a verbal argument that turned physical.

In the case report, one of the victims, a 22 year-old female, says she was trying to leave the apartment when Lewis would not let her leave, and began to push her to the floor. She alleges Lewis then began kicking her, standing on her and slapping her, according to the report.

The victim told the responding deputy she attempted to get back up, but Lewis pushed her back down to the floor, according to the report. The case report states a physical fight began in the bedroom.

The responding deputy says in the report, the victim had severe swelling to the left side of her face, cuts on her forearm and other bruising.

According to the report, another victim, a 14 year-old girl was present during the alleged fights.
