UPDATE | Man sentenced in 2016 hit-and-run death of Aiken County teen

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A man charged in the hit-and-run death of a 15-year-old back in January 2016 has been sentenced.

A judge gave Ryan Isaac Kelly five years suspension, given he completes one year in prison and three years probation in the death of Errick Giles from Beech Island.

Kelly is accused of hitting and killing Giles on Hammond Road on Jan. 14, 2016. The Aiken County Coroner's Office ruled Giles death an accident the following day.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- The man accused of hitting and killing a teen on an Aiken County road has bonded out of jail.

According to court officials, Ryan Isaac Kelly has posted a $50,000 bond and was release today. The 34-year-old was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash.

Kelly is accused of hitting and killing 15-year-old Errick Giles on Hammond Road on Jan. 14. The Aiken County Coroner's Office ruled Giles death an accident the following day.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken County Coroner's Office is ruling the death of a 15-year-old hit and killed by a vehicle accidental.

The coroner's office says Errick Giles died from multiple trauma due to being hit by a vehicle. Ryan Isaac Kelly, 34, was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash.

Highway Patrol says Kelly was driving a 2006 Cadillac SUV westbound on Hammond Road when his car hit Errick Giles, 15, who was in the roadway.

Kelly will make his first court appearance on March 11.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- An arrest has been made in connection to a hit and run accident that killed a teen on Hammond Road in Aiken County Thursday night.

South Carolina Highway Patrol confirms Ryan Isaac Kelly, 34, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. Friday morning after leaving the scene of the crash.

Highway Patrol says Kelly was driving a 2006 Cadillac SUV westbound on Hammond Road when his car hit Errick Giles, 15, who was in the roadway.

Kelly is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death. There will be an autopsy on Giles Friday morning in Newberry.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- A Beech Island teen is dead after a hit and run accident.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, Errick Giles, 15, of Beech Island died after being hit Thursday night.

Carlton said he believes the collision happened sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Hammond Road in Beech Island.

South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are collecting evidence from the scene of the accident.
