Teen accused of bringing meth and loaded BB gun to Evans High School

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW) -- A 17-year-old Evans High School is facing charges after deputies say he brought meth and a loaded BB gun to school.

Authorities say Dennis Atchley is charged with drug possession, carrying a weapon on school property, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report, on Thursday Jan. 14 Atchley was found on school property with approximately one gram of methamphetamine and a loaded BB gun hand pistol. Deputies say Atchley resisted arrest causing a deputy to break an ankle.
