UPDATE | Man accused of killing his wife indicted on charges

RICHMOND COUNTY ,Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The man accused of shooting and killing his wife in December of 2015 has been indicted on murder and weapons charges.

Robert Ware is charged with two counts of murder, cruelty to children in the 3rd degree, and the possession of a firearm during a crime. His children told deputies he killed their mother Michelle Ware, 39 on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015. He was arrested the following day.

Investigators say the victim was pronounced dead from one gunshot wound.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A judge denies bond for a man accused of killing his wife.

Deputies said Robert Francis Ware, 47, is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a crime, and cruelty to children.

He was arrested December 7th.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man accused of killing his wife will make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies said Robert Francis Ware, 47, is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a crime, and cruelty to children.

Deputies said Ware's children told them their father killed their mother, Michelle Ware, Sunday.

UPDATE: 4:54 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies are charging a husband with murder his wife.

According to a news release, Robert Francis Ware, 47, is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a crime, and cruelty to children.

Deputies said Ware's children told them their father killed their mother, Michelle Ware, Sunday. Investigators were called to the couple's home on Pineview Lane just before 7 p.m. Deputies said they found Ware, 39, with a gunshot wound to her head.

According to a news release, Robert Ware had left the house before deputies got on scene. Investigators said a Georgia State Patrol trooper located Ware and his vehicle in Wilkes County, pulled him over and arrested him.

Investigators said the deadly shooting appears to be a domestic incident related to problems with the couple's marriage.


HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen confirms that a woman was pronounced dead from at least one gunshot wound.

Bowen received a call to 4500 Pineview Lane at approximately 6:52 pm.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:48 pm.

The victim has since been identified as Michelle Ware, 39. Her body is at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
