Man arrested, victim taken to hospital after alleged Walmart stabbing

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing at the Walmart on South Main Street in Swainsboro.

According to an incident report, police arrested Gabriel Rucker, after people held him down until police arrived on scene. Police got the call for an aggravated assault by a knife around 7 p.m. Monday night.

Police arrested Rucker and found the victim, Zachary Chambers, holding a bloodied rag to his face. Chambers said he never saw Rucker before and does not know why he allegedly stabbed him, according to the incident report.

In the report it states, EMS was called and took Chambers to the Emanuel Medical Center.

Rucker was taken to the Emanuel County Jail.
