AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An Augusta man has been arrested, accused of hitting his 3-year-old daughter in the face.

Bobby Lee Davis Jr, 27, was arrested Tuesday for an incident that took place in December. He is facing one count of battery and one count of cruelty to children in the third degree.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office says on Friday, Dec. 26th they arrived at Davis' home on Rosier Road after a domestic call.

A woman at the house told officers she and Davis got into a verbal and physical altercation. Another roommate says he tried to stop the fight when he was pulled into it too.

The woman told officers Davis' three year old daughter was in the kitchen when the fight started. She says Davis slapped his daughter in the mouth causing her bottom lip to swell.

Davis' other 8-year-old daughter was in the kitchen too and witnessed the incident.
