AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW) -- An Augusta man was arrested earlier today after he was caught stuffing steaks from a Wal-Mart, in his pants.

Demetress Glenn Howard, 51, was arrested after an officer confronted him outside of the Wal-Mart on Deans Bridge Road.

Officer Steven Bell saw him place steaks and wings in a shopping cart and push the cart to the greeting card isle.

Bell says Howard then went to the front of the store, picked up the wings, and walked out of the store without paying. When Bell confronted Howard, he then pulled the steaks from his pants.

According to Bell, Howard has a history of previous convictions. He is being charged with theft by shoplifting.
