UPDATE | 6 year old boy killed in I-20 accident in McDuffie County

MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga.-- (WRDW) Georgia State Troopers say an afternoon accident in McDuffie County claimed the life of a six year old boy.

The Georgia State Patrol says a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-20 near mile marker 170 when it crossed the fog line and hit the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the north shoulder.

The truck was driven by 63 year old Bertha Sue Duff who sustained non-life threatening injuries. Her great grandson, 6 year old Ayden Sizemore, died in the crash. Her 10 month old great-granddaughter, Madelyn Templeton, received minor injuries.

MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- All lanes of I-20 are moving smoothly near mile marker 172 after a crash involving 2 cars.

An update from Georgia 511, says the accident scene has been cleared.

The crash shut down multiple lanes of I-20 westbound near mile marker 172 late this afternoon. The crash happened near the second Thomson exit heading towards Atlanta.

No word on if there are any injuries or how the accident happened.
