Evans, Ga--Summer time on the football field usually means two things, camps and 7 on 7 passing leagues. As is the case every summer, the FCA hosting their event all month long. While the players get much needed work in, so to do the new coaches as they can see some of their guys on the field competing.
Two of those new coaches are at Laney and Westside. For the Wildcats, its Rashad Dunn now in charge and for the Patriots, it's Jon Wiley. Two young guys trying to turn things around at their respective programs. Both Westside and Laney have had their struggles and these guys are up for the challenge ahead.
"The opportunity to coach a program like Laney. There's a lot of history in this program. There's a lot to talk about there. When you talk about the institution, not just athletically, but academically, and there's a lot going for that program" said Rashad Dunn
"The team's been 1 and 9 for three seasons and there's little things that don't show up until it gets on film, but you know, the energy and the enthusiasium has been there and we just have to continue to work through the difficult times" said Jon Wiley
Both have their own sets of challenges and one of those is getting kids to believe in what they're trying to accomplish. That'll take time on both Dunn and Wiley's behalf.
