NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Vaughn Taylor Championship used to call Jones Creek Golf Club home. When the club closed its doors last year, the tournament had to find a new home. Lucky for organizers, the CSRA has plenty of courses to choose from and they quickly landed on Mount Vintage in North Augusta.

While it's a little further from metro Augusta, the tournament has become one of the top junior golf events in the country. Golfers come from all over to compete here and work alongside Vaughn to sharpen their skills.

Taylor says the course presents challenges for golfers new and old.

"It's a hilly golf course, a physically demanding course, I don't know how far the kids are gonna be driving it on some of these holes," said Taylor. "For me, from the back-tees, it's a great test."

Qualifiers start on June 1 and the tournament play begins on June 4. They moved the days up a bit to beat the late-summer heat.
