USC Aiken men drop first of the year

FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 5 University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team lost a hard-fought 99-92 game at Francis Marion Wednesday evening.

The Pacers are now 12-1 on the season and 6-1 in the PBC. The Patriots are 8-2 overall and 4-1 in league action.

Head coach Mark Vanderslice's team was led by Faison Brock's team-best 24 points. He also snagged 11 rebounds for a double-double. Xzavier Barmore tallied 21 points and five assists. Ty'lik Evans accounted for 18 points while Doniel Dean added 13.

The Pacers are now 8-5 overall and 4-3 in PBC action. The Patriots are 6-3 on the year and 3-2 against league foes.

Head coach Mark Miller's team was led by Grace Crawford's team-high 11 points. Star Toomey tallied nine points and six rebounds while Kwajelin Farrar accounted for seven points, 14 rebounds and five blocks.
