THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- It wasn't the best of nights for our area football teams, as several of them had their season end, just as the playoffs began.

One of the few road teams to win, the Bulldogs of thomson. They are getting hot when it matters most.

The Bulldogs aren't surprised by their post-season success as a tough non-region schedule has the guys feeling battle-tested. Thomson faced power house programs, North Augusta , Lee County and Greater Atlanta Christian, and all handed the Bulldogs losses.

The Dogs biggest takeaway from their early season struggles? You can't make a lot of mistakes and expect to win.

"When you're in the playoffs, the only thing that matters is wins and losses. You win you move on, you lose, you pack everything up for the year. We have to get them to understand that the margin of error, now that we're in the Sweet 16, it closes, and we have to do a good job," Thomson coach, Michael Youngblood said.

Coach youngblood says this is the healthiest his team has been all year.

Quarterback, Damekus Taylor had to sit out a couple games after getting hurt during their Grovetown game. His play on the field brings an offensive boost.
