It's a day a lot of student athletes look forward to. Deciding their college future, and taking care of the paper work along the line. While some kids took advantage of the early period in December, a host of football players made their decision today.

It's a day these kids will never forget. With smiles all around, this was like Christmas for area football players, signing day

"I'm excited because me growing up, I had a lot of doubters and there weren't a lot of people around me" said Maurice Paige of Laney

From the Silver Bluff to Evans, South Aiken to Harlem, dozens of kids making a dream coming true

"I've been waiting on this since I was six years old. The day has come, I have butterflies in my stomach but it's a great feeling and I'm very excited for this day" said Dameon Green of Silver Bluff

Some, never thought this day would ever happen.

"Well honestly I had some doubts, but after talking to my parents and talking to the coaches and listening to what they said, I realized I could do anything I put my mind to" said Kolby Bush of South Aiken

"It's not too far away from home, I fell in love with the campus, great coaching, can't get much better then that" said Kam Brinson of Aquinas

AJ Brown of Harlem became one of the top players in the area this year, and now, Statesboro bound with Georgia Southern.

"The next step is to work even harder, times 10, because at the next collegiate level, it's going to be even harder, so I can't slack off" said AJ Brown

He'll join Jaiden Jenkins and Caree Collier, who actually signed in December. While their school colors will be changing, along with their logo, their love for sport has driven these kids to the next level

"I'm very excited, I'm ready to get down there and roll and just perform" said Jayden Simpkins from Evans

"I was like I finally made it, that's it, it just happened. Just ready to get balling, college ball, it's my dream" said Theron Foreman from Laney

We did have a few other sports today as well, North Augusta's Logan Jeffcoat will stay in town and play baseball at Augusta. Destiny Ingram will run track and Acoya Pate inks with Limestone to wrestle. Yes, there is female wrestling in college

"I wasn't really expecting it, it just happened, like all the hard work and what not, it paid off." said Acoya Pate
