Taylor, SC--Eastside used a big 2nd inning and 6th inning in beating Midland Valley 11-1 to take the 4A state championship series opener Monday night.
The Mustangs got a run in the 2nd, but then it was the Eagles plating four runs off Brendan Moyer and never looked back.. They would add one more in the 4th chasing Moyer from the game.
Then, Eastside platted the final six runs in the 6th to end things with the winning margin.
Game two of the best of three series will be Wednesday night in Graniteville.
On the softball front, Dorchester beat Wardlaw 5-1.
