Martinez, Ga--Our coaching caravans continued Monday night as the Mercer Bears rolled into town to talk football and basketball.
Football coach Bobby Lamb was the headliner as they've dubbed their state wide tour as their Bear-A-Van. A chance to spread some good will in the area that actually has had several players suit up for the bears since they reinstated football just six years ago. They've been hovering around the 500 mark the last three or four seasons and are ready to forge forward in the fall.
"Last year we thought we had a really good football team, we had some injuries that really hurt us during the season, but we have to learn to really overcome that. I'm really encouraged with what we have coming back, a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator. I think the sky is the limit with this team and hopefully we can take that step this year" said Bobby Lamb
Stephon Houza from Lakeside, played a big role the last few years for Lamb and company and evans product Colby Germany is joining the team this year as Lamb is looking forward to have the guys strap on the pads.
