Evans, Ga--Now in it's seventh year, the Drive, Chip and Putt Competition has gotten bigger then anyone could have imagined. Kids from all over the country, trying to play their way to Augusta National for the finals the sunday before Masters week.
Thursday, the fun started with a local qualfier at Champions Retreat. Around 200 kids ages 7 to 15 were on hand and needed to finish in the top three to advance to the level qualifier. Nerves were apparent for many as the thought of playing at the national is certainly on their minds.
What would it mean to get to August National?
"It would be amazing" said Devin Grandt
What's it going to take?
"A lot of practice and effort" aded Grandt
"It would mean a lot because I haven't done it before and it's in Augusta which is like two minutes away from our house so it's pretty cool" said Turner Stevenson
Top three today advance to Savannah next month, and then, one more step at TPC Sawgrass before for the finals. Some of these kids have made it to the finals before as they can choose where to go through the qualifiers.
