AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Laney girls in the final four -- That's something we've gotten used to hearing these past few years.

The Wildcats have reached the state semi-finals nine times in the past 10 seasons. Tomorrow they'll be back in familiar territory, facing Douglass in the final four.

This is definitely one of Otis Smart's younger squads. Unlike years past, the Wildcats have just three seniors on the roster.

So, these girls had to work on finding their identity early. A january loss to Grovetown served as a wake up call. Since then, these girls have been locked in.

Now Laney is ready to keep their winning tradition rolling.

"Being that they're a young team, I had a lot of stepping up to do. Last year, I didn't say much. But this year I have to, so I play a big leader role on and off the court." senior guard, Jaiden Hamilton said.

"They're taking it as it comes and they really want to win. They've demonstrated that several times. We've been in several close games and came out on top," Laney coach, Otis Smart said.

If the Wildcats win, they'll advance to their third straight state championship game.
