GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Earning a college scholarship for bass fishing has been a thing for a while now. Still, not everyday a high school angler gets to fulfill their dreams of fishing at the next level.

For Grovetown's Corey Yaden, fishing has always been a part of his life.

Now, he gets to continue competitive fishing, inking with Brewton-Parker College. Yaden says it's a big weight off his shoulders to get the signing out of the way before the upcoming season.

"I feel like it's a big relief, just knowing that I get to keep doing what I love to do. Just knowing that I get to pursue my dream, I feel like I can fish better now that I know that there's all that stress off my back," Yaden said.

Along with earning an athletic scholarship, Yaden's also earned academic scholarship money to pay for his college education.
