Columbia, SC-- Frankie Tostado collected three of the five hits for the GreenJackets on Thursday, and two of them were home runs, to help Augusta win the series opener by a final of 3-2. It was Tostado’s first multi-home run game of the season, and the left-hander now has a four-game hitting streak
Adam Oller was making his first start of the year for the GreenJackets after the Giants signed him last week. After he worked a scoreless 1st inning, Shervyen Newton lined a baseball back to the mound and it struck Oller on the arm. He would have to leave the game after just one inning.

The Jackets turned to Ben Madison out of the bullpen, and Columbia scored the 1st run of the night in the home-half of the 3rd inning. Ronny Mauricio’s double scored Gerson Molina and the Fireflies had a 1-0 advantage.

Willy Taveras retired the first 12 batters he faced, but Frankie Tostado changed that with a solo home run to begin the 5th, and it tied the score at one. It was Tostado’s 8th home run of the season.
Frankie did it again in the 7th. A solo home run for Tostado put the GreenJackets ahead at 2-1. It was just the 2nd hit of the game for the GreenJackets.

The GreenJackets got an insurance run in the 9th. Diego Rincones ripped an RBI single and Augusta had a 3-1 lead. That run would be crucial. After Jesus Ozoria went 4.1 innings allowing just one run out of the Jackets bullpen, it was Ryan Walker who tried to get the final two outs in the 9th.
