Evans, Ga--It was golf for a cause today at Champions Retreat. Throw in some former NFL guys, including a few Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Steelers, and it was a worth while event, all to help kids with scholarships who are going to South Carolina State.

Former Steeler Donnie Shell was the man behind the outing as he leaned on some of his former teammates and friends to help out. Shell, has been down that road before when he went to school and this is just a small way to pay it back and forward at the same time.

"It' means a great deal for both of us. I provide scholarships to those who are academically gifted, but don't have money to pay their tuition. I was one of those students, I couldn't afford to pay. I ended up getting a scholarship based upon football to go to South Carolina State University.."

Current Bulldog president James Clark was also on hand as almost all the current SC State students come from in the palmetto state
