EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Last week, it was the swimmers going for gold in the Georgia state meet. Now, time to hit the wrestling mats.
After a record setting performance from 12 months ago, the area will have 35 boys and another five girls, hoping to reach the podium on Saturday afternoon.
That list includes Evans wrestling duo, Drew and Jackson Eller.
Both are undefeated on the season -- Drew is 52-0, while jackson is 53-0.
The Eller brothers know everytime they step on the map, guys are gunning for them and both are embracing the role of top dog.
"My dad tell me that having a target on your back means that you're the good one. That's a good thing to have. People are always like 'oh I hate having the target on my back, everyone's aiming for me.' I'm like no, I want everyone to aim for me, because that means I get tougher competition," Drew Eller said.
"I want to keep up that undefeated record. I don't want to lose it. Last year after I lost it, I just kind of didn't care at that point. But this year, it's definitely helped me to maintain everything that I need to in my matches," Jackson Eller said.
It can be tough being the younger brother.
Last year, Jackson says he contemplated giving up the sport. But it was Drew, who encouraged him to stick with it.
