Braves bullpen becomes difference makers in a good way

Chicago, Ill-There are two huge reasons the Braves have vaulted to the top of the standings. Number one, an offense that's been bashing the ball unlike any other Atlanta team, and then, the bullpen. Often criticized, the Braves pen has been outstanding with last night the latest example.

First and foremost the addition of Anthony Swarzak to this team may be the pickup of the year. Since coming over from Seattle, his numbers are ridiculous and has given up just a single run in 16 games.

Then, there's closer Luke Jackson. He'll get the heart racing for sure, but for most part, rock solid. Why the difference the last month??

Only AJ Minter remains in the pen from the opening day roster. Slowly but surely the front office has overhauled it and now it's paying off in a big way. Throw in in Sean Newcomb and Toukie Toussaint, who can go long relief, and it's pretty good right now. I'm sure they'd like to add a guy who can come in and blow guys away, but so to does pretty much every other playoff contender. Safe to say you even turn Swarzak into a closer if need be.
